Kevan Aitken's playing career in Cumnock only extended as far as turning out for Cumnock Academy in his school days. However his involvement with Cumnock Rugby Club lasted much much longer. It began in early 2000's when his son started to play the game. Kevan, always willing to help out, was quickly scouted as a coach and worked with his sons team in various guises all the way through to U18. During this time Kevan started match officiating and has been a part of the Youth Section Referee group ever since. He can often be found on a Sat morning or a Sunday afternoon on a rugby pitch officiating one of our school or club matches.
The club is enormously proud that Kevan has been recognised by Scottish Rugby in the 2025 Community Recognition Awards and wishes to thank him for his service to the ever growing programme here at Cumnock Rugby. Club President Scott Given commented "...without referees we would not have a game and it is thru the commitment of guys like Kevan Aitken that our Youth game continues to flourish"
Well done Kevan and we look forward to seeing you on the park soon.
